Recommendations For Your Bike:

  • Rear Hub Width Variations:
Husqvarna had multiple rear hub widths (even within the same model and year) due to inconsistent suppliers of their rear caliper brackets. Husqvarna decided to make multiple hub widths rather than address their quality control issues, so this makes aftermarket wheels a little tricky. Since the rotor side of the hubs were machined differently, it's possible to run into rear brake fade if you have the incorrect hub width.

You'll need to measure your rear hub width to ensure proper fitment and function. If your original wheel is still on the bike, use a ruler to measure from the backside of the sprocket to the edge of the hub on the rotor side. If the wheel is off the bike without rotor or sprocket mounted, then measure from the sprocket mounting face to the edge of the hub on the rotor side. (Do not include the sprocket side shoulder.)

  • Choosing Colors & Their Cleaning:
White and lighter colors are harder to keep clean, as well as matte finishes. Powder coat finishes are smooth and can be easier to clean. All finishes can be damaged by brake cleaner and other harsh chemicals! Dish soap in a spray bottle is a great option, but no matter the cleaner, always rinse parts right away.

  • Fork Guard Clearance:
Fork guards will need to be slightly trimmed near the edge of the tire, to prevent rubbing.

  • Front Brake Line Routing:
When bolting the caliper back on with the new 320mm rotor, it's best to route the brake line on the inside of the fork leg to avoid any outside impact. This can prevent the line from being ripped off and ending your ride or race. Carefully route the line by positioning enough slack on the caliper side of the brake line clamp to allow the line to sit directly between the rim and the rotor. Avoid letting the line sag or sit loosely. If necessary, you can secure the line to the inside of the fork guard by drilling small holes through the guard and zip-tying the line in place. See picture for example.

  • Rear Tire Fitment For Rim Size:
The 17x4.25" rear wheel size will receive a 150 tire, while the 17x5" gets a 160 tire.

  • Tire Clearance from Chain & Swingarm:
The actual width of a tire can vary, regardless of their named size. For the best clearance when going with the 5"/160 option, you can run tires like Michelin 2CT, Metzeler M7RR, Pirelli Diablo, and others that are close to their named size. These tires run fairly true to size so they still fit in the swingarm (still a tight fit). However, tires like the Dunlop Q series and some offroad-oriented tires like Avon Trailrider are much wider than their called out size, so if you want to run one of those then it's best to stick with a 4.25"/150 option.

  • Avoiding Chain Rub On Rear Tire:
It's recommended to run a Chain Block if you plan to run a 17x5.00" with 160 tire, especially if you run the wider tires like Avon Trailrider, Dunlop Q series, Shinko 705, etc... It will keep the chain from slapping the tire and rim so you can avoid the unsightly rubbing, as well as chain grease on your tire.
